Hi guys! I’m going to make a quick blog post due to the busy schedule I have  going on because of the upcoming exams next week. A couple days ago, my English teacher and the class discussed a certain passage from the book “Such a Long Journey”. It says:

“Dr Paymaster believed that politics, economics, religious problems, domestic strife, all could be dealt with methodically: observe the symptoms, make the diagnosis, prescribe medicine, offer the prognosis.” – p.164

I personally believe that this methodical process can be used for many different situations including friends, family, education and so on because it underlines the base steps of the overall process. In addition, it is a very strong analysis because it is applicable to several different situations.

What do you guys think about it?

Ah, the human brain. Gives us the abilities to read odd letters, such as my funny title.

Physically, yes, we always (or most of the time) understand what someone is trying to convey. Example: “Hey what’s up” is not a literal term, to tell you to look up at the sky. Over the years people have created many slang sayings, and we’ve went along with it. Now we are masters of our own language.

Physically, still.

Emotionally, we are at the bottom of the chain. Not even, we have yet to even create a chain to link on. Some are better than others when attempting to understand those body language, facial hints and voice tone signs, but we are the weakest animal at this.

Of course, animals get a trade off. For not really having an understandable language, so they can interact in a more… sophisticated manner they have methods of just… understanding each other.

For us, it’s not that simple, if we get it wrong, sometimes bonds break and challenges are created. It’s always important to let yourself have an open mind, and be prepared to get it wrong. If you’re a very defensive person, it’s nearly impossible to correct your mistakes if “you are never wrong.”

A simple task: Next time you’re talking with someone, take the time to listen even closer, look at how they are saying what they are saying. Try to reach a very good understanding level with this person. After all, it’s another step to creating your own chain!

Day seventeen of blogging.

by Katherine on June 10, 2010

Yay! IN LESS THAN A WEEK the grade sevens will be going to Montreal, Ottawa and Kingston for 4 days and 3 nights. I can’t wait! This is my first big trip of my life without my parents. I am really excited for what I will see there, and maybe to test out what I have learned in French class!
